
Prior to co-founding Riviera Partners, Ali was the VP of Client
Services & Business Development at Opus360. Opus360 provided Internet
software solutions, which enabled automated procurement and management
of their project-based workforce. Clients include Lucent, Sapient
and PriceWaterhouseCoopers.
Ali co-founded and was EVP, Operations &
Services at PeopleMover, a leading venture-backed developer of Internet
based, Enterprise Workforce Management software for staffing, consulting,
and professional services firms including CSC, Robert Half International,
Modis and BEA Systems.
At PeopleMover, Ali built the client services
team and initial product management teams. He grew those teams to
over 40 employees within 18 months. They were responsible for building
and installing the product. PeopleMover was acquired by Opus360
in 2000.
Prior to PeopleMover, Ali was the Director,
Operations for a $120 million international apparel company. Ali's
responsibilities included recruiting and setting the strategic initiatives
for the technology and distribution teams. Major initiatives included
automating the distribution and manufacturing operations as well
as packaging the company for its eventual acquisition in 1999 by
Kellwood International.
Ali began his career in professional services
for ten years at Andersen Consulting and KPMG Peat Marwick. As a
Sr. Manager with KPMG's Strategic Services Consulting Practice,
Ali worked with the leading technology and electronic components
manufacturers in Southern California. He was responsible for selling
and delivering work through a network of partnerships that included
major software vendors, computing/networking platform manufacturers
and other consulting organizations.
He is a graduate of the University of California
at Irvine with a BA in Economics. Ali enjoys rugby, cycling, swimming
and traveling. He and his wife Ramsay and their two children Georgina
and Deke currently reside at the Presidio in San Francisco, CA.
