Senior Director, Partnerships & Business Development

The Senior Director, Partnerships & BD at Riviera Partners will be deployed in support of Channel Partnerships (primarily PE and VC firms) in the Americas. They will also conduct BD activities related to partner referrals, utilizing best-in-class sales processes and methods to originate and help secure newly qualified search mandates. Riviera’s growing Partnerships organization strengthens and streamlines existing relationships with investors by aligning the best of Riviera – personnel, technology, talent, and insights – against human capital needs throughout their portfolio and firm operations. Doing so creates more valuable Partnerships for all parties – investors, companies, candidates, Riviera – and advances our mission of helping to build the companies of tomorrow.

Specific responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Establish, develop, and expand channel partnerships with PE and VC investors
  • Bring a customer and partner-first mindset to building long-lasting and deep relationships
  • Work creatively and collaboratively with internal colleagues — exec search, sales operations, marketing, finance, technology – to create value for our partners, customers, candidates, and teammates
  • Build account plans, establish growth objectives, and quarterback client service teams to achieve our broader goals
  • Articulate the Riviera value proposition and services to the decision-makers across our key constituencies
  • Operate within our procedural guidelines and act with the utmost integrity in all internal/external interactions

Preferred background includes some/all of the below:

  • 10-15 years of demonstrated success in one or more of these fields:
  • New Business Development within Private Equity and/or Venture Capital
  • Selling research, advisory, and consultative solutions
  • Investment professional or consultant working in a performance-driven environment
  • Strategic Account Management with long-term, enterprise-level commercial agreements
  • Proven experience managing a territory, including time management and running a methodical process to land/expand
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionally to solve complex customer and/or channel partner challenges
  • Credibility regarding subject matter/content and perceived as a thought partner by customers and/or channel partners
  • Impeccable attention to detail, ideally in a high-volume and fast-paced environment
  • Superior oral and written communication skills
